I had read it as a kid and it had litterally creeped me out, i couldn't sleep for many nights. When I grew up I wrote a doctoral thesis about vampires in which i of course mentioned Salem's Lot, and now i'm re-reading it. In the light of Dracula, that I hadn't read yet as a kid, it takes an even deeper meaning, makes me want to write an article or a book, about Salem's Lot and Dracula, the two best vampire novels i've ever read.
