I love sci-fi movies and Stephen King, but this movie did not fill all my expectations. I read the book in 2002 and loved it, but when the movie came out i was a little disappointed. The story was good, Duddits was great but they left out a lot of key elements which got on my nerves. Other than that, it was a good movie but not the best.

I think the Duddits storyline was pretty true to the book, except the ending. The ending sucked. The bacon was hilarious, they should've added that. Morgan Freeman is a great actor, but he can't play a psychopath; he has too many expression lines in his face.

Easily the most underrated of all the King adaptations...Kasdan is a truly great director, and he does a terrific job of capturing King's distinctive blend of humanism and horror in this film.

I was very dissapointed. I loved the cover and concept, looked forward to it and then snored my way through most of it. The larger aliens all like something that came from my nose, and the ending was a miserable waste of time. Had the alines been of a more believable design, and Duddits still being human when he destroyed Mr Gray, then I might have actually enjoyed it. I did however love the flesh devouring sluggy things, they are soo friggin cute! who could have guessed that that little bugger would cause such devistation and agony. Aw! but those are my thoughts, as a person who does not get scaredby anything, spent the entire of Exorscism or Emily Rose in stiches on the floor.

It is an OK film, entertaining, but nothing great like The Green Mile, The Shining, The Mist or Shawshank redemption. It is actually great until Mr Grey's appearance, then it's just so-so. And the end is childish. The book is so much better.

MAN, is it true that there is a deleted scene or extra on the DVD where Thomas Jane taunts Donnie Wahlberg into breaking character? Or taunts Duddets into blowing his act? I have been scouring youtube and the like and the only solution is going to be to re-rent this little baby.

It's a wonderful story played by a fantastic cast... Bucko, I think we're on the same page - pissin' in the same latrine.
