This is an awesome concept. There were a few major elements that were changed between the book and movie (ex. physical description of Carrie), but I actually prefer the movie over the book. I am not a big fan of the format of the book. That being said, the book gives a better history of the characters. Very good, but also sad.

This movie is considered a horror film classic. For me it's a good movie. I must admit this film is better than most King adaptations. If you can get past the dated music and hairstyles/fashions of the 1970's it is enjoyable . Great acting by Spacek and Laurie. Also a young John Travolta in a supporting role is quite amusing. A very good film.

"Carrie" is one of my favourite movies since I was a teenager because it's a perfect horror movie: begins as a teen-movie and then explodes in rage, revenge and bloodlust in a perfect arch of suspense.

Carrie is one of the shocking and magical movies ever it is one of the most good movies and the. High school student played her part very good in the movie the ending was the jumping out of your seat ever for people to after one of her friends had a nightmare. In the end of the movie. Carrie returns was one of good ones because the girl that was in the second turned out to be her cousin she had powers to.

I love this movie! One of the first R rated movies I ever saw, to this day whenever I find the time to watch it, I do. It still scares me and it still makes sense to me in the same perverse way that all of Stephen King's works do.

I absolutely love this movie! Not only is it terrifying but it is emotional as well. I can't watch the last 20 mins without crying. I pity Carrie so much that its painful to watch. The remake however is awful. The ending is so bizarre. I think it was because they wanted to start a series. It really was unfaithful to the book. They didn't just change a little bit they completely changed it.

This is my favorite film of all time. I have collected promotional memorabilia for this film for years. I have posters from the US, Germany, Australia, and Japan, as well as other memorabilia. Spacek and Laurie gave incredible performances. A great film from a great story.

Is it wrong i was rooting for Carrie to kill all the people who tormented her? In the book and the movie.

Just watched the tv version and I loved it. The special effects (some if them) are what made it great the cast wasn't as good as this carrie but pretty good bad for some characters though (like John T as billy was great but not the guy who plays Billy in this). The ending wasn't so great I thought because carrie lives and is on her way to Florida (carrie during is sad but the only way I think it should end though) but I heard they wanted to make it a series like what they did with the dead zone but it didn't turn out.

the original was the best of the three movies made. they should have never made a sequel and never gave carrie a disney ending in the remake.

I watched Carrie a few nights ago, and i feel SO sorry for her. Althought girls dont have telekinesis-like powers (obviously), there ARE misfits, and there are those people that pick on them, making them feel even worse, like Carrie

'Carrie' is one of the saddest fiction stories I think I've read. It's scary to think that S.K actually threw this away and was luckily saved by his wife!! What if she hadn't? Would we have all the great books from him like we have today? Everything about the book is amazing and even more so, the movie. Sissy Spacek (in the performance of a lifetime) captures everything that Carrie was to me in the novel, sad, mopey, frustrated and desperately wanting to belong. Piper Laurie makes an exceptional Margarate White and she scares me to death whenever I watch it! The actors playing Chris and Sue were brilliant. Although she was part of the mean crowd, I just love the humor that the character Norma brings into certain scenes. She's ace! This movie in places may seem a bit dated with the 70's hair-do's and flared trousers, but that's irrelevant. What's important is the story. Take away the supernatural parts and we have a story of a girl severely bullied by everybody around her until she realises the only way it will stop is if she fights back and stands up for herself. That's something I'm sure a lot of us can relate to. Obviously that's what makes Stephen King such a fantastic storyteller for me, there's always something in most of his stories that can be so close to home. Brian De Palma has done the novel proud (although I was dissapointed they never got round to finishing the flashback of Carrie as a little girl when she makes the stones rain down on the house). Get a copy of the special edition DVD and you can see stills from the cut scenes they did film in the brilliant extras. Overall, this classic movie gets top marks and will forever be in my dvd collection and watched for many years to come. The remake was interesting but let's face it, nothing compares to this!

So, I really like the book Carrie its a very good book and it opens your eyes. Like you sit here now and days listening to people cry about their parens and life and say how bad it is. Well, I don't think they've seen anything. And Carrie is the kinda book to open your eyes and notice that your life is like heaven compare'd to hers....So I think people should really read Carrie and get a taste of reality.

I thought the movie was better than the book itself. Sometimes movies are either better or not as good depending on what is omitted from a book so that a movie would actually be better. (The screenplay)

Carrie is an endearing character. I loved her comment, "Jesus loves everyone, Momma even me." She never looked for the gift; that was interesting. Was she 'washed in the blood?' and then baptized in the bathtub? Hmmmm.

Carrie is my favorite horror movie of all time! I think it's because it's not scary but has a lot of suspense and a GREAT STORYLINE! The horror movies of this decade are so pointless. Carrie is awesome, fun, entertaining, it fits perfectly on a class reunion night!

I watched this movie the moment I had read the novel and everything I loved about King's work came out in DePalma's masterpiece. Certainly one of the best King adaptations ever made.

I love this book it demonstrates the hidden capacity of people who are missunderstood and who are mistreated. I can relate to Carrie White, and her "special" gift!!!

My very first memory, sitting in the back seat of my parents car at the drive in theater watching the movie carrie. I have suffered from extreme social anxiety my entire life. I wonder...
