Christine was the first novel I ever read, I was only eleven years old and, honestly I was amazed at the storytelling, much more than I was the fear factor involved. Arnie reminds me of a friend of mine, so I'm sure many fans could relate to him. When I read "The Shining I was freaked out, it was horror in the most vicious form. Christine offered something more calm, but it has a way of grabbing the reader's attention not to let go until the final words. The movie isn't nearly as good as the novel, and the movie was great. The Green Mile held very close to the written story. Which in my opinion was the most powerful novel ever written by Stephen King. Christine would have been a better movie if the death scenes were carried out like the novel, and if we could see Arnie moving the illegal product for Darnell. This is one of my favorite novels from the King.
