I have never been interested in baseball weather it was playing it, or watchng it, I just never seemed to get hooked on it, never saw something that would keep me drawn in. To be frank I did not think so much when I began to read this seeing that it was going to be about baseball, I wa a bit confused when you talked about it, not understanding much here and then there, but you did it again with writing a great story, with each page I was liking it more and more, soon enough I was loving it I wa adoring it. When they where losing, oh and when they lost they were not the only ones that had tears in thier eyes, but when they won, I jumoed from my seat and cheered on the top of mu lungs, that they had done it that they had won! I was like that for 10 minitues striaght cheering for the vitory they had gotten.If you are too keep writing such great stories of baseball this way, I guess that they will have a new fan soon enough. Owen did a great job, they all did.

gschiraga@yahoo.com in head down the championship game was york against bangor west i lived there my nephew matt franche pitched for york he pitched a strike york won things changed the strike was disputed matt cried it turned out to be a ball the empires settled their disputed call situation matt went on and lost the game it was just bad luck bangor west was a great liittle league team thats baseball thanks for readin

I don't see the synopsis of this (I wanted to send the synopsis to a fellow coach), but shared "Head Down" with my youngest (12-year-old) son last night and he loved it. As a coach for the past 13 years, I've always loved this story since I first read it several years ago. My son is focused on AAU baseball this season (in Danvers, MA based on our limited options here in Central NH for tough competition), but I will surely miss seeing him play (and coaching) on the "little diamond". Growing up poor in South FL, I agree that baseball was a great equalizer for me...and when Little League, and to a lesser degree, High School baseball, is over...you take each other (in your memories)...and you understand that what happened "inside the chalk" was something special you have shared that transcends what you come back to when you walk off the field.
