The test is whether you must sit in the car, listening, long after you've pulled into your drive. Then like a light turned on i could not put it down until the end. She made each character remarkable. I often have problems with women's narrations of male characters. Not in this case. Winningham was brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed the book!
