    Default Twilight

So anyone else read these books ?

My friend goaded me into reading them. I must say despite the fact Bella was bland and devoid of any personailty. That I actually liked the books.

There is no way they were better or even held a candle to Harry Potter. But they were good in their won right. Care to discuss ?

I read the first two. Stopped primarily because I couldn't find the others in SC. They were pretty good, but while reading them I could tell that they were writen for teen girls.

Hi! I loved the first one. It was a very engaging read. We will be in line for the Midnight show (myself & my sister's 14yr. old daughter) on Friday. Can't wait to see how it looks on-screen.

The one thing I cant even comprehend myself is how did these books get so popular and well loved ? I liked them I will admit that but the main character was horrid. She had no personality. I just dont get how I could read 4 books when the main character is so boring.

I heard about that. Everything's pretty much been explained to me so I don't feel like I've missed anything.

My wife kept hearing how good these were so she read the first one. Liked it and went ahead and read the rest over the next couple of weeks. She said they are very simple reading (High School level), but they were enjoyable enough. She told me there were not like SK vampires, but much...."softer". I currently have no plans on reading these books, although I told her I would allow myself to be dragged to the movie with her.

Well I bought the first book for my "little" sister's 20 birthday on Friday...I think she'll enjoy them for something to read on transit if nothing else, I'm just trying to decide myself if I should dive in.

Keep posting and let me know!

I have not read them and do not plan on it.

Just not my cup of coffee.

Also, I heard how she changed the vampires, and that is the real thing that turned me off.

Would they even be enjoyable for a man?

I've read Stephenie Meyers first adult fiction book, The Host, and it was excellent. I'm a guy and honestly it was one of the better Science Fiction/Suspense/Romance books I've ever read. Started out a bit slow and confusing, but once you get into it its really good.

I've contemplated reading the Twilight books, but it just seems to me that they really are aiming for Teenage Girls. Not sure It'll hold my interest.
