Ok so we all do something stupid where we want to smack ourselves around, do the Jim Carrey butt-kickin' to oneself we saw in Liar, Liar.....

so I thought to start a thread on the stupid things we do to ourselves.

I give myself the dunce cap award for today. So paying a 6 month school tax bill today of about 3700$. Wife asked me if I could drop it off at town tax hall today, i said ok write the check leave for me etc...

Went to my keys check there and i slip in the tax envelope with the other papers... throw out garbage and have to work my way over road being reconstructed to my car down the block..drive to tax place (15 mins away) --long line about 20 peeps in front of me but moves fast--- for some reason I check envelope all is there but the check is gone----

Spend an hour looking in car, retracing steps at home looking ....but no where to be found... I LOST IT!

arrghh!!!!!!!!! it gets better --so i go home and write another check go wait in line again only 5 peeps in front od me than i get up there and see i switched the payor name and amount text hahahah

At least i had checkbook in car---take long breath go back to line and pay tax's....3rd times a charm...

Ok all my fault but why oh why will my wife not agree to move to electronic banking!!! ahh i feel better....

Mama told me there'd be days like these...

I hate doing stuff like that. Mailing the right check to the wrong company, for example. Electronic banking does make it a lot easier; we pay almost everything online.

I took my card back and even the receipt....
Left the money....
About R800(RSA currency) I lost....

Today at work, doing a last-minute check of the tickets for the release, I realized that two weeks ago I had checked a defect fix, found it was not right, and sent it back to the developer ... only I forgot to change the workflow step so that he would get an email sent to him to let him know about it.

I know that probably doesn't make complete sense to anyone but another IT person, but suffice it to say that I did something pretty dumb and then made it worse by not finding it until the last minute.

Foolish act #594,602,442,992: In attempting to scale the K2 of laundry... without thinking, I poured bleach into a load of colored uniform tops...now I have tops with pretty, white dots!!!

This happened a while back, but I was checking the brake fluid in my car,( I am a hands on kind of person) And when I put the cap back on and placed the bar back over the cap
I got my fingers hung under the bar ( for lack of right word) and I couldnt get it off!Finally got neighbors attention and he got me unstuck! Felt Foolish big time!
