I've been bitten by the poem bug. I just can't seem to stop.
Someone will say a word - into my head its rhyme will pop.
They keep coming 'though I try to think of something else instead.
Could someone out there tell me how to clear them from my head?
I've tried a cup of tea. Perhaps I should try a strong drink...
To drive these rhyming words from all the thoughts that I now think?
It's driving my friends crazy. When they see me now they run
In a fruitless hope they'll hide out 'til this rhyming thing is done.
The Red Sox / Yankees thread is now awash in bad sports rhyme.
Perhaps you all should think of it as, forthwith, quarantined?
I've passed it like a virus. Please don't blame my friend R.J.
(Those Yankees fans don't know what's right or wrong here anyway.)
So let me please apologize for all my recent posts
I hope it's not annoying to my gracious M.B. hosts
I'm sure this bug will run its course. They almost always do
'Til then tet-mates I'm sorry if these rhymes are bugging you.
HAHA I see u tried to hide Y u left our usual thread and in me u did not confide To answer your first stanza Stop whining like George Costanza
Read my last retort in the Yankees thread And you will find the answer to clear your head Follow my advice and you will be feeling fine I don’ t think I need to point it out, the answer is fine wine
As I sit here in my home office looking at my Yankee stuff I pray, I hope that one day you will listen to your hubby and me, lose the sox fluff Soon we will start a colony of rhyming fools I also find piece in watching that recommended show from Sai Dalglish –with that guy Jools
Music and wine now that’s a pair It cools me down I lose the electricity from my hair For I too am thinking and talking in rhymes Even at the most inopportune times
You have a severe case of Dr. Seusititis. The only known cure is to visit a cat wearing a hat on a rainy day. Chances of recovery are phenomenally better if a talking fish is also present. If unable to meet these requirements your best bet is to try and poem yourself out- just keep writing your lovely little diddies for everyone to enjoy- you may (or may not) wear your rhyming self out. In the mean time - we will enjoy your struggle
You should never have to apologize for the creative flow. If you find that it is driving your friends crazy, do not voice it - write it. Carry a small pad of paper with you and write down those little gems. You never know, you could be the next Frost or Browning.
And if truth be told of all the viruses a person could contract, that would be the one I would pick.
