On a scale of 1-10 what would you give Insomnia? I'm thinking about reading that one after I finish The Tommyknockers.

I'd give it a 9.
I guess you should probably consider reading "IT" first, because "IT" is also set in Derry and shares a few connections with Insomnia... but in the end it doesn't really matter.
For me, it was maybe a 6 or a 7... I'm getting ready to start re-reading it, I think, probably. Maybe. It seems as though when I read it... around the time it came out... I read it right after several of the low-key, women-centered books (Gerald's Game, Rose Madder, Dolores Claiborne) and I thought it was much better than the last couple of books, like he had gotten back into his groove... But I like Tommyknockers better than Insomnia, based on what I remember -- Tommyknockers is one of my top faves by Sai King.

Loved Insomnia....rate it an 9...it's another story with important ties to DT series. I didn't run right out and get this when it first came out. But when I did get it, I couldn't put it down.
Hi,
I'd rate it very highly indeed, though I wouldn't like to quantify it.
Much recommended.
Long days and pleasant nights
9 I only gave it a 9 because the beginning so so damn SLOW. I actually gave up on the book the first time I read it then went back to it a few months later and it was the best decision I ever made! it was well worth it once things got rolling!
I'd say 10. I didn't care how slow it led up. I mean, the hero was like, 80 or something. It takes a while to do stuff when you're that age...
I think I dehydrated myself because I bawled so hard at the end of that story.
<-- What John said
Yeah i'd say 8
A good read. Slow in the beginning of course. Controversial to some people because of the subject matter, but in all honesty all King's books are and that's what makes them kickass
I rate it a 9.
