Wow.
Yeah this story died nationally before it barely even broke, but I really thought at the very least, it would have been continued being a much bigger deal on the local level.
I sure hope somebody picks it up the ball and runs with it, besides say High Times magazine, I know they'll cover it, and probably Playboy, and a few other mags will give it some attention (if they haven't already), but I ain't gonna be holdin' my breath either.

The JG massacree was the cover story of the local free weekly last wee, marking six months since the event took place. Article basically says "Certain questions came to mind when it happened, and certain questions still come to mind, six months later..." rather can coming forward and saying anything concrete, but it's >0. ("Better than nothing.")

i know, from all these posts, you really want this to turn this into alot more than it is...but, again, there is no hidden conspiracy to take away guns

what it only is, unfortunately, is just business as usual: the sort of thing that police depts do (with drugs and other things) every day...the sort of thing other admin have done in the past...and, yeah, sometimes these things go wrong...

all of being made more of by the nra, the tea party types and their weak-kneed washington political lackeys who, rather than actually working on our nations real problems, have decided to create conspiracies where they do not exist: what a waste of tax payer $$ and precious time...

...all to feed the egos of dolts who wouldn't know (or are just unwilling to live with) the truth if it smacked them upside their wee little, often hate filled heads

You aren't likely to see any of this on the news, but the Federal government has just declared war on the citizens of the US. Obama has promised to veto this Bill, but since he claims the authority to assassinate American citizen through 'executive orders', that isn't much comfort. Truly, we are entering a new age of bi-partisan tyranny.

you're not right...again....i see no place where the govt is not respecting the rule of law...or of disrespecting the constitution...

clearly, from this directive/letter sent to the dealers, the govt had, despite your seeming desperate wish, no intention of banning guns: the missive was very clearly meant specifically to help track the type of guns used most often by criminal elements, as a part of the whole program, in that area: it was not sent around the country to all gun dealers...it was not meant, or used anywhere else...

now was it ?

and the (possible) noncompliance (interference ?) by these dealers could just as easily have led to the govts lessened ability to track where the guns were going...thus, conceivably, helping along the resulting debacle...

and there is absolutely nothing about the letter that could possibly be seen as even the slightest beginnings of a 'slippery slope' that would suggest, as you continually seemed obsessed with, a plan by obama and/or his atty.gen. to ban or take away guns...

but since you want to bleat on about such things..why are you not posting all the efforts made, much of them rather successfully, to restrict individual citizens rights as they pertain to...abortion, marriage, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of association...

why is that, while the govt has, very often, taken drastic steps to curtail tax paying citizens rights in these, and other, areas, have you not posting rants about govt intrusion there...

or...are the only freedoms you actually find worth worrying about the ones you hold dear to your heart...

guess that would mean that you simply do not believe in the constitution at all...or all the rights given to all its citizens...

just, very apparently, the ones you and your right wing friends like, eh ?

and for the record...i trust john mccain and carl levin to do the right thing far more than i would ever trust rand (or ron) paul : why would any sane, intelligent, real american even think about paying even the most minor bot of attention to his interpretation of what any bill is about ; if it doesn't fit his narrow-minded, far-too-right views, he'll show his true ethics and twist it into a pretzel-logic lie, no matter what...

President Obama withdraws his veto threat. It's possible that the full impact of this legislation will not become apparent until the next Republican President begins using it against the people.
