Need help with Dark Tower.

You almost have to real all of his books to see all the connections. I know that's not terribly helpful right now, but there's no better way to explain it. They are all, absolutely connected. Sometimes, there's just little, tiny nothing little mentions that actually shed a lot of light on another story.

I really think reading them In a certain order or researching what books pertain to The Dark Tower and reading only thoes, kinda kills the fun... let the discovery be random and read what you can, when you can....

It is supposed to sound like post the Stand, but it is actually parallel to the Stand on another beam. They definitely do find stuff that seem post the Stand

the dark tower series can be read on its own without any reading up on other titles beforehand. it makes a nicer surprise then once you've read them when you read something else and a ddaark tower reference pops up. it's caught me a few times and all i can do to smile to myself.....problem is whe that happens i wanna start reading the series again. thats probably why i am on my third set of copies and why the other twwo wore out!!

it's easier to read "wolves of the calla" after you've read Salem's lot, but you don't have to.

If you have read any number of Mr. Kings books you would understand that the cross reference to other books is normal and actually at this point expected. It was actually what tipped me off when I read books by Bachman before it became known that they were actually King. A friend told me to read a Bachman title because "it is as good if not better than King." I read it and told him it was Mr. King's work, he told me I was wrong, later he apologized.

I too read Bachman and SK and struggled (in my ignorance)as to which was really 'better'. It's laughable now but wasnt at the time! I found Bachman's to be dark but compelling, but so was SK's! I couldnt tell the difference much of the time, and was too embarrassed to mention it! So I divided my attention to both authors and just enjoyed all the books!

I have a question? In The Wastelands a stranger comes to the TickTock man and tells him he is not dead. Is that Randall Flag? I ask because he tells the TickTock man to say "My life for you" and the Trash Can man says that in The Stand.
