Stephen King's Unpublished Books and Stories

    1959 - Charlie (short story)

1970 - Sword in the Darkness, also know as Good Day Sunshine (novel)
1974 - The House on Value Street (unfinished)

    1996 - The Pretender (unfinished)

WHAAA WHAAA WHAT DA HELL IS THIS ? Can we expect to read these; some day ?
I am very curious about anyone named Charlie. I hope Charlie is female.

I will google all of these . but have any of you read them (not counting Under The Dome)
Can you tell us anything about these stories ? When King talks about Trunk-novels,
...is this the whole inside of the trunk>? are there more of these ?

I just got done listening to the audiobook of Danse Macabre and in the book, SK mentions the unfinished novel called "House On Value Street." It was a novel he tried to write about the Patty Hearst story. He was writing it before she got captured. If I remember correctly, he said he got bogged down and stuck with it and moved on to something else. He said he couldn't get the characters right. I don't think he got too far along with it.

I believe that he took the remnants of House on Value Street and used them to tell the story of Carol Gerber in Hearts in Atlantis. (Opinion, not backed up by evidence.)

If I recall correclty, an excerpt of the Cannibals was posted on the SK site in '09.

A number of the others are in the Fogler collection at UM Orono.

Good Wikipedia article here, but I'd wait for Ms. Mod's blessing on its accuracy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unpubli...y_Stephen_King

They're unknown because they've never been finished or published. You can find a substantial chunk of The Cannibals on this website -- it was this second crack at the idea behind Under the Dome. A chapter of Sword in the Darkness can be found in Rocky Wood's book "Stephen King: Uncollected, Unpublished." A book, by the way, that will probably blow your mind if you are astonished at the short list of unknown projects in your post!

Trunk novels, as a rule, refers to finished books that have not been published. These are mostly failed or incomplete books. The Wimsey book was an attempt to write a book in the world of the Dorothy L. Sayers character Lord Peter Wimsey. He may have only written a dozen pages or so before moving on to something else.
