The Diary Of Ellen Rimbauer was an interesting and creepy book to read. And despite the fact that I know a lot of people who didn't like it, I really loved watching Rose Red. The guy who played the pizza delivery man was great.
Rose Red was okay, but I didn't like it nearly as much as Storm of the Century or the Shining miniseries. On the other hand, it was light years better than IT!
I didn't really find myself able to get into the movie. I have the book but I haven't been able to get to it yet. As I am reading two books at once and trying to balance work so I will get to it soon and give you a better opinion.
I LOVE ROSE REDAs a matter of fact my plans for Friday are to stay in my pj's all day and watch Rose Red (SK appears as the pizza boy
)and The Shining Miniseries!! Anyway I have been meaning to ask if Rose Red is a book. I have almost all of SK's books (I belong to his book club and its a great deal) but I dont have that one. Is it a short story? Is The Diary... the name of the book and Rose Red is the movie? Any info would be appreciated!!

Rose Red came from the book The Diary Of Ellen Rimbauer, My Life At Rose Red, and I'll be damned if I can think of the name of the person who wrote it at this this time. Anyway, Stephen King wrote the teleplay based on the character of Joyce Reardon, who supposedly edited this diary. If you enjoy the movie, I suggest finding a copy of this book, it answers a lot of questions about the history of the mansion. There is also a movie called The Diary Of Ellen Rimbauer and I like to watch it as a prequel to Rose Red.
I hope this helps a little.
King only wrote a screenplay, Rose Red. The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer is a tie-in book, a prequel of sorts, and written by Ridley Pearson. The Diary was also turned into a movie.
I actually really liked the diary of Ellen Rimbauer. It was a freaky read.
I read it and thoroughly enjoyed it, what a perv John Rimbauer was.
