Looking back, I see my post is badly out of date.
Rules have changed since then and I would really kinda hate
Someone new to read the thing and wonder why there's not
Almost anyone who posts a greeting at the spot
They've said "Hi" in their first post in hopes that other fans
Offer up warm welcomes. Then come back and find they're sans
All the greetings that I got back then, when first I came
Never knowing that the trick is clicking on their name...
Plus, I'm feeling like a bum for, while I was away,
People came and went before I'd had a chance to say;
I still have that blanket and the welcome's still sincere.
All of us are glad you took the time to join us here.
Please correct me if I am posting this in an inappropriate forum. I was hoping someone might tell me if Mr. King still reviews brief writing exercises, as per his prompt in On Writing. I am a graduate English major and new (i.e. totally blind and lost) freelancer. I'm not a long time fan, but On Writing is without a doubt worth more than five years of undergraduate study (well, if you went to UNL, anyway). Can I at the very least perform the equivalent of sliding a manuscript under the Prof's office door?
Hello, I am a newbie, I just wanted to send a happy hello, and Merry Christmas to all. I hope you all will be patient with me, even though I am a quick learner, I'm not perfect.
A good "for instance", I moved from beautiful green Pennsylvania, to the desert, Fallon, NV. Though it was nice to see my brother who I haven't seen in 10 years, this would proove to be one of the greatest mistakes of my life. I would be more than happy to confirm the difference in people out here as mentioned in Desperation. It might make an interesting read. What a strange strange trip it's been...I'm am saving money to move home, just so I don't turn into what is here. ~Dawn
*Wanders in* Im guessing i've arrived at the right place, though, Im unsure of how many other Australians are here... *Looks around*
So im new and avoided this site for a long time, why? Because I love me a king book, Ive been hiding from my life in them for a while now, but i really didnt want to get involved in analysis and character study discussions, i dont want to tear kings books apart and examine them. I want to be taken to a place i havent been and hide there for a while.
I also didn't want to find out things, i like walking past a book shop and seeing a new release King book and getting overly excited, rushing in and buying it. I guess that doesn't make me much of a fan in some respects but it made me a happy fan. I also enjoy going to markets and scrounging through towers of books to find a King book at the bottom i don't own, (though i have most of them now. Just want to collect the Hard cover versions) or to find someones novel on a discussion of the man, who saved me from me sometimes.
But then i found out i was missing things, like online stories and releases of movies, then i wanted in.
So here i am, So far Im lost. I dont know how the forum works or what to click on or whom to talk to. I dont know if people reply to what i say and if i get told or just have to come back and find it.
Seems Ive stepped into another rabbit hole, I'm falling and I'm lost. Can someone guide me?

Hello.
It's late at night and I've just - regrettably - put down Desperation.
I've been an avid reader for years, but being a scaredy cat, never touched a horror book.
Until this past spring. I found a copy of Insomnia and loved it. it wasn't what I expected a Stephen King story to be.
I've read several other King books this year, and hope to read all of them...eventually.
I am new here and I love Stephen King books and movies. But I am also a writer myself. I have 1 book published and working on book 2. So I am trying to get involved in all sorts of writer blogs and forums. And naturally I seen this one for my fav author so I had to join.
I want to say hey to everybody who welcomed me and everyone else on the site . Being a newcomer I've had a lot of fun checking out the various forums and threads and coming up with a few myself . I look forward to meeting more people who enjoy reading and watching S.K.'s work . THANK YOU!!!!!
Hey everyone, Ive been reading fiction since I was a wee elementary school brat. I have vivid memories of using homework assignments as a platform for my ongoing story about a boy being chased by inanimate objects through multiple dimensions. Anyway, I thought this place would be the perfect start to see how other people approach writing fiction. I love the Dark Tower universe(including the comic books!) ,so the news of a movie is very exciting.
