Thank you Ms. Mod. A last minute change of direction: I am going to focus on his writing style. I did see a paraphrased explanation of his writing style citing the book you mentioned. I am crossing my fingers that Barnes & Noble has a copy for me tomorrow morning. Nothing like the last minute to pull off an A grade. Unfortunately, my speed reading technique always fails when I have a King book in my hands! Thank goodness I have until midnight tomorrow.

Hello, I've been reading SK's books since the 1970s. I'm middle-aged, married, happy, and pretty well fat and female. :-) I bet I'm not the only one around here, when I see a crow, say "Hi Randall!" Then again, maybe I am.

    Hello all,

Just joined the board, shame it has taken me so long. I have been a constant reader since my first introduction to Stephen King back in 1980. While I was at college a friend of mine leant me Carrie. I have read every book since then, with a few exceptions

Dark Tower - I read the The Gunslinger, but haven't read any of the others yet. I am a bit of a wierdo in that all my king books have to be the same size so I will buy the complete set one day in the same size as all the paperbacks I have.

I also only got half way through Insomnia - Don't know why and I do mean to read it again one day when I have time

Other that that the only one I know of is Duma key (But the same quirk applies as with teh dark tower series, I am waiting for the paperback.

So now you know my strange quirks and my read list I will say a bit about myself. I am a computer game developer, ex programmer, ex producer, ex head of dev and now I run game studios. miss all the previous jobs, but still love my work. I have made over 50 games in my day and the next one is due out next year. I will let you know what it is nearer the time, if anybody has the slightest interest

Anyway I live in the Czech Republic with my wife and 3 children (Hence not much reading time)

I am looking forward to having a trawl through the boards now so I may speak to some of you soon.

    Dobre Den

    Marc

    Hi,

I hate quoting myself, but after posting this yesterday I was reading Faithful (co-written with Stewart O'Nan) last night when I came across this line from Sai King himself -

'I hate to sound like Annie Wilkes, but I've got to be one of Wake's biggest fans'.

So it's not just us LOL.

    Long days and pleasant nights

    Peggy:

I would also suggest (unless you own a lot of SK books) looking at all and reading the intro's usually in front of every book. Packed wih SK thoughts, sometimes his inspirations, definitely a ton to use for a paper on him.

    enjoy!

He does the cameos when he's asked and has the time in his schedule. He did some acting in college and enjoyed it. For a list of the movies he's been in, go to the FAQ. He really hasn't been in that many.

Usually he is approached to sell film rights and if the offer is acceptable, then it proceeds to the movie. Not sure if that answers your question, but if not, please explain more specifically what part of the process you're unclear about and I'll try to answer.

Hi, I'm from Lancaster PA. My brother (GarratyVStebbins) had me sign up here, and he also gave me all of the SK books I've read so far. I'm really excited to read more books by Mr. King, right now I'm on Gerald's Game.

    Hi Peggy, Mclori, Wongadob, Tweekedone, Takasha, and K1d6r4y, and everyone else I've missed;

Glad to see you here. Sorry I haven't checked in on a thread that has my name on it for awhile, but my children are home for summer vacation and my computer time has become extremely limited. Not only that, but the wonderful staff at the message board have just added a bazillion new features to the message board (like customizing your home page and creating photo albums - they've even installed a POT for us to use ). There are new social groups to check out and other people's pages to visit... There is so much that I'm almost bewildered... Almost.

Fortunately for the computer illiterate amongst us (myself most definitely included) the FAQ is really clearly written and helpful. If that fails, there are prolific members offering their most welcome assistance in the Thankee Big, Big thread. And, if all else fails, the Webmaster - Jordan - is an extremely patient and knowledgeable guide to the changes. He's been answering stupid questions for us over in the Suggestion Box section of the board.

I'm so happy you all decided to join. It took me forever, too. Like many of you, I'd been reading Sai King for years but hadn't done more than check the website for latest release dates. (And have you seen the new features on the web page? Wow. ) I can't believe it took me so long. It's been great fun meeting fellow fans from all over the world. Just wait. You'll see.

See you out there... Most sincerely,

    MrsSmeej

So i try to welcome newbies whenever possible.

    And you're forgiven, mrssmeej.
