    Default Newcomers, Please Read...

Hi! It occurs to me that I owe you guys an apology. When I first joined, I was delighted by every single response that lovely people took the time to post on my Newbies Start Here thread ... People like Volic and John Dalglish and Cowboy, who make it a point to greet every newcomer to this message board. It made me feel very welcome. I haven't done that...

The problem is that I am incredibly lazy. I do read many of your posts, but I'm too lazy to come up with an individual response to them... And I'm sorry. Unfortunately, I can't promise that I'll change. You see, there is so much to read and do here at this site, that I'm unlikely to start responding on a regular basis... Sorry. But, the thing is, you are most well come. Each and every one of you.

I am delighted that you are here. We all are. Come join the party over in the Cantina and Patio. Check out the stacks in the Library. Join the discussions over in Books. Vote for the U.S. President or the Red Sox over in Surveys. New opinions and information are always welcome. You are always welcome. You'll find a wise and witty Moderator (and yes, we all have to wait before our posts show up. It isn't just you. They'll get there.) There are some wonderful wolves, a very smart super hero, a newly in love couple, and many caring and thoughtful people no matter where you go here. You may find a few Yankees fans, but hey... They are mostly harmless.

So, please consider this my blanket welcome to any and all newcomers. You are all invited to snuggle in under it and forgive me for my laziness. I look forward to chatting with you soon.

    Most sincerely yours,

    MrsSmeej

    Hi,

When I first joined the MB the number of responses (the number of members) were much smaller than they are nowadays, but, like you, I was delighted with the welcomes from Volic and Spidey, so I decided that I would join them in welcoming new members, as it really knocked me out receiving such a warm welcome from them. So I try to welcome Newbies whenever possible.

    And you're forgiven, MrsSmeej.

    Long days and pleasant nights

John: I wanted to thank you for the reference to Jung's conception of a collective conscious. This was something I have been looking at for a while and had not crossed that thread. Experiencing a thing as a growing thought and then finding a name for it is a little memorizing. Have you heard of the hundred monkey principle?
