Hi Mod,
Did Stephen read "Slaughter House Five", or any stories by Kurt Vonnegut?
Thank you,
- Jackie

Yes, he did and they were personal friends.
That's interesting, I didn't know that. I've always enjoyed Vonnegut's books.![]()
I was so very sad to hear about the passing of Kurt Vonnegut. I have read most of his books. My favorite is WELCOME TO THE MONKEYHOUSE. I am glad to know that two of my favorite authors were good friends.
My favorite Vonnegut is Cat's Cradle, followed by The Sirens of Titan.
When reading the dark tower series it kept reminding me of Kurt's novels, so I wondered? Thank you for clarifying that for me Mod. I wonder if any of Kurt's novels influenced the tv show "Lost", esp. when Desmond was traveling through time similar to how Billy did in "Slaughter House Five".
Absolutely, if you watched the episode from this past season that was all about there was a nod to Slaughter House 5. There's a scene where the tv is on and you can clearly hear a game show like Jeopardy. The contestant answers the questions with "What is Slaughter House Five?" That stuff isn't there accidentally![]()
