    Default Billy Pilgrim

    Hi Mod,

Did Stephen read "Slaughter House Five", or any stories by Kurt Vonnegut?

    Thank you,

    - Jackie

    That's interesting, I didn't know that. I've always enjoyed Vonnegut's books.

I was so very sad to hear about the passing of Kurt Vonnegut. I have read most of his books. My favorite is WELCOME TO THE MONKEYHOUSE. I am glad to know that two of my favorite authors were good friends.

My favorite Vonnegut is Cat's Cradle, followed by The Sirens of Titan.

When reading the dark tower series it kept reminding me of Kurt's novels, so I wondered? Thank you for clarifying that for me Mod. I wonder if any of Kurt's novels influenced the tv show "Lost", esp. when Desmond was traveling through time similar to how Billy did in "Slaughter House Five".

I'm so glad you said this. Sirens of Titan is one of my favorites, too, but it seems like not many people have read it.

I also loved Slapstick, with the idea of the vast families that people are assigned to, and what happens as a result. Great book!

Absolutely, if you watched the episode from this past season that was all about Michael there was a nod to Slaughter House 5. There's a scene where the tv is on and you can clearly hear a game show like Jeopardy. The contestant answers the questions with "What is Slaughter House Five?" That stuff isn't there accidentally

I know of Slapstick, but haven't read it yet. I really loved The Sirens of Titan.

I read The Sirens of Titan and loved it... one of my favorite books. I would have to re-read it to remember all the nuance...
