I'm a french canadian and I would be proud that a french canadian cardinal access to the ''holy seat'', but not cardinal Ouellet, thank you. That wont be an improvement as far as making the church progressive. He's certainly a very competent man for many Vatican jobs, but at the end, putting him on THE SEAT, would be a mistake. He's very conservative, wont accept that women have leading jobs in the church, is against the condoms and abortions ( even when the poor girl has been raped ). He doesn't show any signs of wanting to change or even think about making some progress. Na...unless he makes a very important ''virage'' , and in the right way, I don't want him there and many of my friends share my views, not counting my husband. I wish Jean Paul II was still alive to give his opinion. When I was born Pope Pie XII was there, and we know that he never reacted to atrocity of the holocaust. I mean what's the use of having a pope who's not a leader and prones progress. I heard that Benedict XVI tweeted. Marc Ouellet wont tweet and I'm certain he doesn't have a cell phone. That's another story of course, sorry. But I dont want a regressive pope. Churches are empty here in Quebec, most of the time and we all know why.
I must say something though. I have a devotion for Jean Paul II. When I talk to him in my prayers, I'm sure he listens. I have been experiencing real signs of that. Maybe he could inspire Marc Ouellet to become a people pope like he was. I hope so. BTW, I think it was a good decision that Benedict made. I admire him for that.![]()
