the end of the tower **SPOILERS**

ok so ive read the end of the dark tower and what i want to know is if it keeps starting over again and again then how does the gun slinger kill the king the next time around. if patric danville is from the real world where time only goes in on way then he wont be there the second time around. also does that mean that each time the gun slinger starts over does he get a new group of guys and new wepons, cause i thing he ends up with the horn of eld and he didn't have that the first time around.

Welcome! There are quite a few posts in here on this topic with all kinds of theories on what happens the "next" time. Maybe he never will kill the Crimson King. Maybe the horn will be the key. Mayhap he has a different Ka-tet each time. Who knows? How many times has he already walked this path before? So many questions!

I finished it 4 months ago, and I still can't stop thinking about the implications of Roland's doom. I keep wondering if I can find out by going back and reading it again... and again... Was it the really first time for the rescue of the Horn of Eld? Or does Roland just perceive it as the first time? What mention has there been in previous books? Perhaps the horn was lost early in the desert? ... maybe all permutations are played out in all the worlds inside the rose... It's endless! You are definitely not alone in your questioning!

No no no.... once Roland makes it back to the Tower with the Horn of the Eld, he will enter the Tower... and all of a sudden, Susan, Jamie, Alain, Cuthbert, Shemmie, and some of Roland's other old school homies will jump up from behind the furniture and yell "surprise"! They will all sing "for he's a jolly good fellow". Confetti and balloons will fall. There will be a piniata, a donkey, a clown, a juggler, and even a rock band. And in Return of the Jedi fashion, Oy, Suze, and Jake will be standing in the corner as holograms giving Roland the thumbs up. That's what I think
