It was required reading when I was in school and I found it fascinating. Kind of a rite of passage, really. For the first time, it got me thinking about different political systems and the effect they have on the daily lives of their citizens. I thought Orwell's use of metaphors was really cool-- Snowball was really Lenin, Napoleon was Stalin, etc... Animal Farm really changed me. I was less naive after reading it and more questioning of government-- any government.
