Default Sawkill Stories: The Silver Tower By Matt Fitzgerald

I recommend Sawkill Stories: The Silver Tower. A quick & fun Zombie story.

The Silver Tower is an exclusive high-rise condo complex in lower Manhattan. The residents are a who’s who of the city’s elite athletes, brokers and entertainers. The building is a state of the art facility equipped with all the comforts, excesses and security measures one could ask for. From the full service day spa to voice activated appliances to the Starbucks in the lobby there is no luxury too great.

Kimberly is the onsite manager. Dixon is a former Secret Service agent and the head of security. Together they act fast to drop the security shutters and seal the Silver Tower’s eclectic group of tenants in. They are safe from the Zombie Apocalypse that is spiraling out of control on the streets all around them, but not from each other.

This is a tale of the undead like no other. It’s not about surviving the outbreak. It’s about surviving with your fellow humans and keeping the fragile notions of peace and order as everything goes to hell.

The Silver Tower is one of several “Sawkill Stories.” They run parallel with, or are directly related to Matt FItzgerald's novel “Sawkill” that is coming out next year. Over the next several months more “Sawkill Stories” will surface in anticipation to the main event. They will provide insight and background to some of the supporting cast, and events touched upon in the “Sawkill” universe. Each story stands on it’s own, but will have deeper implications once the full picture is revealed.

Synopsis for “Sawkill.” Coming in 2013:

Jessie travels for his work. A lot. His worst fear is being away when there is an emergency at home. He has confidence in Mauri to take care of things – she always does – but it’s just the kind of guy he is. With his cell phone off for the night Jessie has missed the frantic calls from Mauri who is at home with their children in Massachusetts. The chaos that started the night before on the island of Manhattan has had nine hours to spread. As Jessie races from his hotel in New Jersey to get back to his family Mauri has to act fast with their two little ones in tow as the insanity comes north. Separated by three hundred miles and three million zombies: Never tell them the odds.
