It's fairly simple, with some of the kits. There will likely be an initial investment in some equipment. There are other methods of brewing that are slightly more complicated, and more time consuming, but they result in a better product IMO, and it's even cheaper. It's a hobby I find enjoyable.
I just ordered a couple heating belts for my fermenters, because my last 3 batches fermented at too cold of a temperature. I plan to make a stout next, this will be my first stout, and I have no idea how it'll turn out.

I do or have done knitting, crocheting (prefer knitting), sewing, stained glass, locker hooking, ceramics, a little needlepoint, jewelry, traditional rug hooking, weaving (rigid heddle loom only so far), gourd decorating, concrete, carpentry projects. Seems like there's more but that's what immediately comes to mind.
