Default trilogy of terror starring karen black (reminiscent of angelina jolie?)

Here is a quote from myself, Ayko aka Luke Willy Muschiol, from my message board which is under construction...

"Just in case you are not familiar with one of the 'horror queens of film and TV' from the 1970s, check out the film "Trilogy of Terror" starring Karen Black. A trilogy of film shorts that appeared on ABC's 'Movie of the Week' March 4th 1975 and is based on stories by (short story) horror master Richard Matheson who also wrote some Star Trek TOS episodes and another master of short story, William F Nolan. A real horror classic although 'made for TV'. Karen Black is truly an 'Angelina Jolie type' actress and personality. You will thoroughly enjoy it.

The first story, "Julie" (not Jolie), is about a high school teacher (Karen Black) being blackmailed into a sexual relationship with a student until she turns the game around...

The second story, "Millicent and Therese", (not from Disney) has to do with identical twins (both played by Karen Black) and voodoo...

The third story, "Amelia" (not Angelina), is a solo performance from Karen Black being hunted by a killer demon possessing an old Indian doll. A wild climactic story with a knife slicing ending..."

She also played in a movie called Burnt offerings. I think it's a fabulous, creepy old haunted house movie.

No sign of relations to Tim Burton, or Richard Burton for that matter, Ayko. I am looking it up now and you will be happy to know that Richard Burton aka Skip Burton is also a writer and a teacher aside from being an actor, he was born in Frankfurt Germany which is very close to Hanau Germany, he just turned 66 which is the 1900s year you were born, and he is also a Scorpio...Happy Birthday Nachtraeglich.

Just to recap in a more direct way, this topic was to discuss the relation, symbolic, co-incidental, or otherwise, between Karen Black's style and the Trilogy of Terror with Angelina Jolie. The style of actress and look between the two is apparent. So let us move on. The first trilogy has Black's character being victimized with the ending showing how she only played the victim to give herself a kick while victimizing her victim thinking they were the attacker. The second film has two roles played by Black while we wonder who is really worse, the one or the other. The third trilogy short has an evil aboriginal warrior spirit possessing a Zuni voodoo doll preying on Amelia, played by Black. The conflict ends with Amelia finaly 'cooking' the doll alive in the oven and upon breathing in the black smoke emitted is herself taken possession of the evil knife wielding spirit, and happily as she calls her mother and invites her over to be her/their first victim. Do you see any parallels?

Also, Karen Black's birth name is Karen Blanche (french for white) Ziegler (German name) who abandoned her last name and took the last name of her first husband, Charles Black, to replace her middle name which is the opposite of her birth name. Okay, Angelina abandoning her family name Voight (her father's ancestry on his mother's side is German) and replacing it with her middle name is not quite as artistic but, another co-incidence among co-incidences which makes the whole thing somewhat eerie, if you take such things in an eerie way.

There is much more if you are not all scared out of their wits already...

Trilogy of Terror is great fun. Most people remember this movie for the "Devil Doll" sequence, which traumatized many a child watching this on TV back in the 70's!

...next to sock monkeys, the cymbal clappin' simian from Unca Steve and Tammy Faye Baker-that damn devil doll was the most horrific thing I'd ever seen....
