    Default Discordia - The Series?

I blame Chris Carter for this whole post. He started it, especially considering he’s not guilty of anything.

    Let me explain.

I’m watching an episode of the X Files (stay in your seats it gets better) and as it ends I’m thinking of this character in that episode and it happens, I think Gee wouldn’t it be funny if. Specifically what if someone from Tet Corp. were to show up and offer her a job as a new agent? Part of the reason I thought of that was I had the idea that working for Tet would also mean this character working out her own problems by joining our favorite office space. In other words, it’s one of those second chance deals, an opportunity to put your past to rest.

The whole train of thought above led me to think of Fantasy Island and how the exact same idea was utilized on that show. At last I thought, what if you were to make Discordia into a TV series by combining these two other shows?

It could have the same investigative police and paranormal elements of Files, along with the second chance theme of Island.

The series would have a continuing host figure and the sotries would be about a different protagonist each week as they’re recruited to Tet and sent on missions. Each week would be a different story with only Tet Corp. and Mid-World to connect them all. Each story would center around damaged and broken souls being offered a second chance by this mysterious corporation that in essence helps the min some way with their problems.

Like I said, I blame Chris Carter for this whole post.

    Thought, comments?

I agree, the overall concept of Discordia Chapter One works very well as a TV show. That said, Op19's specific adventure into Mid-World is far from TV friendly.

As we've teased, Discordia continues to evolve and mature into its own full fledged DT entity. The story beyond what you know is very elaborate and quite epic in nature. It would not lend itself to TV.

As I see it, its either a a video game or a single 3 hour film. Once the next chapter comes out later this year, I think you will agree. - Its pretty much going to blow your mind.

Well, Brian, thanks for that. i was thinking more beyond just the Discordia story to tell the truth, like what story could you tell about other agents and things like that, totally unconnected with the game as it is now except for Tet and Mid-world and Keystone world locations, that sort of thing.

I'm with you. The Discordia Keystone plot is rich to say the least. There are a many killer stories that could revolve around the war.

simply blows your mind away huh? I'm not done with Discordia---theres STORIES in there, dang it! Great stories-scarey stories, 'oh the horror' stories still walking thru room after room, even banquet hall s too. Theres got to be a room of shadows where Roland can see his mother holding him and singing baby lulibies, and another room his father as a kid, etc.Seems like theres so much more down the halls...

In my mind, I always saw the stories as being vaguely satirical in places, with characters sometimes poking fun at literary convention.

By the way, CCAL, you're in luck. I knew I had something to say earlier and I just wasn't remembering it. Sorry about that, guess I must have had a Philip K. Dick moment there.

Anyway, this comes from the ideas that are going strictly nowhere department. It' an idea for a series pilot. It would be about this guy who's happily married and has a kid. In true King fashion, an agent of chaos steps in and shatters the norm. In this case the family loses the kid, not by accident either though neither the Guy of his Wife have anything to do with it. However, it causes the end of their happy life and his marriage.

So he's at the end of his rope when he stumbles upon Tet corp and it's operation by accident while some Ops are in the line of duty, maybe he runs into a Low Man? Or maybe Tet just finds him, either way he's offered a job. The rest of the show would be about his adjustment to Tet and Midworld. In the end, his assignment would in some way involve him getting some kind of second chance, maybe involving the guy who ended his "Other Life," maybe not. I do see him involved in some Low Man ammo fodder though, real cool shoot outs. Eitherway the result is the same, he's able to put the past behind him and move on.

Only one funny thing though, when he goes back to the place where Tet corp. is located. The building is there, everything looks the same, except there's no rose in the lobby and when he asks around, no one can remember there ever being such a company called Tet on the premises. At first the Guy wonders if he's imagined the whole thing, till he finds something in his pockets, rose petals he was given earlier in the show. The Guy leaves the building and walks away with a wistful look on his face. As he leaves, he drops the petals in a passing Beggar's mug. Cut to series Title Discordia logo. Quick Fade Out, roll credits.

    So, what do you think?

Prisoner when I was little (and no one around) I would get out my notebook and my black hawk #2 and write me a little story. I loved them-warts & all.Never ever had any intention of doing anything with them and most were lost in our many travels. Some i flat out burned-nothing but trash. They cant all be worth the paper they are written on. So I say write your story Prisoner! Sounds interesting! It would be fun anyway. :-)
