This happens to me quite frequently and I'm wondering, how many of you experience deja vu? Do you always let it "run its course", or do you "stop" it, by exclaiming "Deja vu!" or saying something else? What do you think is really happening? Are we "remembering" things we've already experienced? Thoughts, anyone?

Re: Deja vu...again...
Yeah I've been thoroughly flummoxed by some deja vu'ey little minutes before, made me go, 'HUH???'
I think most of the time it's just an acute awareness and/or a highly developed intuitiveness, but them other times....
I wonder if there has ever been a study, where a line has ever been drawn to the youngest in larger(ish) families, having possibly experienced those "deja vu" like feeling more often than their older siblings...the 'baby' of families are supposed to be almost always more intuitive and observant to their surroundings and to those around them, or so I've read often enough, and I also believe it to be true.
See we babies of the family, we tend to pay more attention, especially to nuance (a lizard brain survival thang one might could suppose), so we know things about peoples and things, and without always even knowin' it, sometimes we can just, like 'feel it' man.
So maybe deja vu, it's just us gettin' a little head of ourselves in our private mental movie screening.
To me it has always felt like I'm seeing something i've dreamed the night before or a time even further in the past. A dream I can't remember having and which has merely been stored in my subconscience.
Good topic. I don't have answer, but good topic. I think our minds are more complex than can be comprehended. It's like our lives run on parallel lines with some reality or existence we're not aware of, and occasionally the lines cross, and at those intersections, we experience deju vu. Does that make sense? Or maybe I've seen too many episodes of Fringe. Or maybe we all go todash from time to time. The whole idea almost makes some scenarios from The Talisman, Black House, and DT 5-7 seem plausible. Almost.
I experience Deja vu all of the time. I think that it has a lot to do with my lifestyle though. I stick with patterns an routines for the most part, so I guess that it is natural to think "Haven't I already done this?". Because the answer is yes, you have.
I did have an episode in an airport one time though. It seemed like I had done everything before. Right down to the people I talked with and walked past. That pretty much freaked me out! I hadn't been to an airport for almost ten years before this happened.
Being the youngest in my family, Pat, I agree with you. My mom always said I was the most sensitive of us, and yet the toughest. Nice of her to say, not sure I always believed the 'tough' part lol
Pith that was a very cool analogy. Definite food for thought there. Me being the youngest of five I could be tempted to agree with you, after further reflection, since my occurrences of deja~vu are very regular.
Sometimes it does feel as if I've seen something before, or experienced it (perhaps my subconscious is simply reflecting on a semblance of a past experience..?)
I've had a lot of deja vu moments. I dream pretty much every night so I've always associated it with dreams. Not necessarily something exact but having a dream about a certain place and then I end up there or something like that. But yeah, I find myself saying "Whoa...deja vu..." quite often.
