We get some bad apples from time to time...the exception not the rule. John could get them riled just by being better and enjoying the board. Nothing that petty seemed to bother his wonderful spirit. I find that Pat is another gentleman who can hold his own without reverting to name calling and insults. People like that do not let losers spoil their bit of fun.

Great thread. It's so nice to hear everyone's thoughts on JD. It was also the first time that I had read JD's writing, so thanks for that too.

Some days ago I told my best friend about John passing. I tell her about the SKMB very often, and I had told her about John many times. So, though she is not a member here, she knew him through my words. She told me that we must be happy to have had the opportunity to know him thanks to this place, and that in 'the old times', when places like this were not possible, we would have never known him.
And I thought about the ways of destiny, about being a SK fan, and about having so many wonderful moments with wonderful people here, just thanks to our shared love for SK's work.
I hope I'm expressing my thoughts effectively, but I'm sure you get what I mean.
Thanks for this thread and for everything.
I still can't believe he's not here anymore.

I, too, need to learn to be a little more chill and a little less...rawr! sometimes.

asshat is one of my favorite derogatory terms! It was the name I used for one of my ex's, I swear I thought I made it up and then I heard someone use it in a movie.

Awesome thread, Srbo! I really love John's 'Everyday's a Schoolday' thread (and love that phrase, too.) I learned a lot there, as well as in John's other writings. I miss him fierce.
