Songs you love to hate

...and with that thread title, I mean actual "top" songs of the day...not novelty tunes that turn your tympanic membranes to mush-i.e. "Disco Duck" or "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer"...ones you hear ad nauseum on whatever media you choose...I admit, as long-time broadcaster, I probably have a more jaundiced view than most-having had to spin "the hits" repeatedly over the years...but, I'm curious about which ones just flip your "Dear God , kill me now!" switch...and since I've started this sucker-----allow me...my top contender for the song I hate the most is "If I Die Young" by the band Perry....now, before you start chucking rotten fruit, poo, or sharp objects at me beloved melon...it HAS won a crap-ton of awards, and people seem to love it-but I ain't one of em...that thing grates on my nerves like a cat gettin' squeezed in a cider press...so what ones do ye say "Shut that damn thing off!!!" about?

Taking out Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain", pretty much all of the Billboard Top 10. Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson, LMFAO...

Take your pick, they are all overprocessed.

Love Collins with Genesis, but not so much the solo stuff. Mostly this overplayed monster.........

Yep. I can't help but like LMFAO, but not love. I can't stand anything by Rihanna.

I have to say that my top contender for this would have to be Taylor Swift.

"Gold Digger" by Kanye West comes to mind. Talk about ruining a perfectly good Ray Charles song! In fact, anything by Kanye West makes me wish I was deaf. His enormous ego always seems to drown out what little musicality his songs might have had otherwise.

And that song by Hoobastank (what a terrible band name!) called "The Reason." Ugh. I guess the song is almost a decade old, but I remember it being played every five minutes like it was freakin' yesterday.

Half the songs on LULU (the unfortunate collaboration between Lou Reed and Metallica) makes me want to stick toothpicks in my ears.
