    Default Is a sequel possible?

Either Flagg returning to terrorise the survivors or just going in a different direction with Flagg as the main character?

No, Steve doesn't have any plans for a sequel--at least at this time. He feels that everything that needed to be written on that story has been written and leaves it up to each reader's imagination as to what happened next.

Sit Down & Take A Load Off: A Sequel
Hmm, yeah your right, it really doesn't have that certain special ring to it.

I can't see Sai King ever writing a sequel to it, say sorry.

    Just me.

I've visualized a sequel where ole Randy ends up in the Hundred-Acre Wood with "Pooh's Crew" and Kanga kicks his Azz....(then my meds kicked in)....

I'm with Ms. Mod on this one. When I read The Stand for the first time, and as the story wound down to the wow-finish, I was actually sorry I was getting to the end of it. It was that good. I didn't want to leave the Captain Trips-ravaged landscape SK had crafted. But then I realized even a masterpiece must have an end. So it is with every SK novel, and so it was with The Stand.

And yes, I do wonder what happened to Stu, Frannie and the survivors of the Free Zone, just like the rest of us.

There should be a sequel: my UK paperback copy is an unbelievable 1325 pages with tiny text and it was still too short when it ended!! lol

I think there'd be plenty of room to write a compelling story set in that world, but only if it was a straight-forward post-apocalyptic drama. I'd hate to see Flagg return for vengeance, or some bullcrap like that.

Which is not to say I wouldn't read it if King wrote it. SURE I would!

I'd like to see a short story sequel version maybe 100 or so pages. Maybe told from someone else's perspective totally new to the story. Maybe where the new characters are trying to find the free zone and they've encountered flagg recently. Something to that effect.
