Default Your Favorite Stephen King Metaphors and Similes

I have to tell you that I am constantly struck by the wonderful similes and metaphors in Mr. King's works. I have been passively smiling with them but this weekend had to write one down to see what we could get in this post!

"his belly preceding him as a bailiff may precede My Lord Judge into court." (Wizards and Glass)

Since I have not read On Writing or taken any literature classes discussing Mr. King's work, I didn't realize that this aspect of his work was so oft-discussed. I just "Googled" 'Stephen King' and 'simile and metaphors' and was blown away by the number of articles discussing this!!

    How fun!

What are some of your favorites?
