If the story was written from the point of view of Scott, it would be a completely different story. The story is written mostly from Lisey's perspective because Scott has died, and she is dealing with the grief and memories . There are sections throughout the book that tell Scott's story from his perspective, and a large section at the end written from Scott to Lisey , which seems to me to be very much from his perspective.
