Wow Neesy! That would have been before Canada lowered the drinking age to 18, too. Before then, they played lots of High School gyms

Yes, Shoe... CA = Clockwork Angels. And I agree with Srbo about this album. I've been waiting for it for almost 2 years and it does not disappoint! Can't wait for November (or October if I'm able to make it to Toronto).

Almost there! Tomorrow night is the big Rush concert in Pittsburgh! I'm taking my daughter Jillian (and a set of protective earphones) and I'm not sure who's more excited--her or me!

Hey, sorry so late with the review but the past couple days have been crazy. Jillian and I had a great time at the Rush concert! They played lots of my favorites from the 80's in the first half, and in the 2nd half they played a 9 song set from the new album, Clockwork Angels. It was really cool because they had a 9 piece strings orchestra for that block of songs. The place really came to life!

I know Jillian was having a good time because every time I looked at her, she had a big smile on her face. Several times I saw her singing along with the songs, she knew the lyrics of the new songs better than a lot of the older fans! The people around us were really nice to her: the guys in front of us sat down so she could see, the one guy gave us "fist bumps" and a woman behind us kept giving Jillian popcorn.

Rush sounded great, here is the set list if you want to see it:

    Set One
    2."Subdivisions"
    3."The Big Money"
    4."Force Ten"
    5."Grand Designs"
    6."The Body Electric"
    7."Territories"
    8."The Analog Kid"
    9."Bravado"
10."Where's My Thing?, Pt. 4: Gangster of Boats Trilogy"
    11."Far Cry"
    Set Two
    12."Caravan"
    13."Clockwork Angels"
    14."The Anarchist"
    15."Carnies"
    16."The Wreckers"
    17."Headlong Flight"
    18."Halo Effect"
    19."Seven Cities of Gold"
    20."The Garden"
    21."Manhattan Project"
    22."Red Sector A"
    23."YYZ"
    24."Working Man"
    Encore
    25."Tom Sawyer"
    26."2112: Overture/Temples of Syrinx/Grand Finale"

Jillian had her ear protection on which was good because the sound was pretty loud. She saw another little boy with headphones on and her dad gave us the thumbs-up sign. I bought Jillian an official Rush Clockwork Angels Tour T-shirt, it was a little big but looked cute on her! She was so tired by the end of the show I had to carry her out on my back. But she had a great time! She insisted on sleeping in her new Rush T-shirt that night and the next.

That's great! I saw Rush a few times - they have a really good time on stage together, you can just tell!

Trivia: Do you know Geddy Lee's real name and why he is called that now??

His Grandmother had a very strong accent and could not pronounce Gary

So, obviously I made it to Toronto. It was every bit as awesome as I'd hoped. Seeing them in their hometown was quite the experience. I ended up getting 7th row on Alex's side. Here are the pics I got:

Next up - Seattle on Nov. 13th. I'm going to upgrade my seats... gotta sit up front!

My son just became a Rush fan. He and his dad were going through dad's cd's and Rush is one of the ones he took. He is now teaching himself 2112. He's also going to read Ayn Rand's Anthem. And, he's happy for his friend who went to the concert, but disappointed that he didn't.

I was thinking of you Terry, because every day my daughter pulls out her Rush T shirt and reads the back to see where they are on that day. I noticed they had a two-day stretch in Toronto and thought of you!

Jillian noticed they are taking a day off on Halloween....
