Chapter 45: The story of Mother Abigail. So now we get to read all about Abigail and her life and also why she's lived so long too (lots of answers and also questions too like in Lost only better!!). She is past 100 years old and yet she knows it is her duty to guide the others in this tale to join together to battle evil. She believes in God and feels that God is letting her live as long for the reason stated just now. She has a talent for music (Guitar & Singing) even in 1902 played a concert which for her was one of the proudest day of her life. She has nightmares about the Dark Man same as some of the others, while in a house getting some Chickens she is haunted by a plague of Weasels who attempted to steal her chickens and stop her from getting back home. Two days after that some of the group turn up as she's preparing and cooking a feast. Nick and his group show up first and then the rest of Mother Abagail chosen few turn up too. Nick quickly becomes the leader of the group. Ralph says to Abagail that he is dreaming of the Dark Man. Abagail reports to Nick that the Dark Man (Randall Flagg??) Is pure evil and picks up the lost, lonely, & the weak to follow him. The group including Mother Abagail decide to head out towards Boulder using a loaded van.....

Great Chapter, Good to know a bit more into the background of Mother Abagail. I was starting to think she was just a vision or a ghost of some kind. Nice to have Nick as the leader esp as he can't speak or hear. I think his leadership will be very interesting to say the least!!. Ok onto Chapter 46 and beyond!!. I hope to get a few chapters under my belt this weekend. Hopefully another 100 pages!!. No plans going to be a slow weekend which is great cause it will give me more time to read this amazing book.
Have a lovely weekend, will post some more Monday my friends.

In the process of just starting on reading another 100 pages......I've set aside this evening/tonight just to really get my teeth into this.
I've also over the weekend managed to see the TV Movie up till where I've read up too only. Really enjoyed that too, One of the best TV movie I've seen of his works.
    Until tomorrow then......

Chapter 46: With Stu & Frannie group, And poor if slightly selfish Harold is really pushing up the jealous stakes (or is that down? lol). Some of the group has been taking sedatives to stop them from dreaming (Maybe SK was doing this too at the time of writing??) Except for Frannie who simply palms it, and as such she has nightmares. Fran fancies the pants off Stu and so "Wants" him. Harold did try it on but nothing more is said about it (??) Fran is worried about how he would react when herself and Stu get together (Hmm Harold needs to find someone else, or I can see him turning towards Randall Flagg and his gang!!).
One of the guys in the group Mark is sick with a sever case of belly ache and no Doctors around to help. A couple of diary's from Fran (I wish the word "Fanny doesn't mean Arse in the USA cause here in the UK it means the other exit!!), Which states again how dreams are affecting the group and how strange it is that most of the group seems to have the same dreams.
I found this chapter quite hard to get into to be honest I'm sorry to say, But I still keeping on reading.

Chapter 47: Still with Stu & Frannie's group, Their come across a roadblock manned by 4 men and at least 8 women, Harold get neavous and makes a grap for his pistols, Stu tells him "Harold Don't", When suddenley one of the girls from the other group screams "Now!". All Hell breaks lose A massive gunfight ensures with "Blood raining down opn the pavement, as if there had been a sudden shower" The men in the roadblock are killed by both Stu's group and the women in the other group too.
After the battle the other women tell their sad story, It transpires that the women were sex slaves to the 4 men, and to keep the women calm and passive their were given pills (Downers, etc). Eventally some of the women frought back by not swallowing the pills and getting their strength back for when their had a chance to fight back. Stu's group give them the chance their needed to fight back.
Fran writes more into her diary.in which it is told that Harold confessed his love for Fran, Fran doesn't feel the same way as Harold does. Harold blames it on Stu and is now watching Fran and Stu very closly.
Stu dreamed about the black man again (Randall Flagg) and it seems the he is now crucifying the people who gives him trouble.
Fran tells Stu she's pregnant after their both confess their feelings for one another and both make love but Harold is secretly watching them.....
Great Chapter esp the gunfight, Loving that Harold is now turning bad too!!!.
    More Chapters tomorrow

Chapter 48: TRASHCAN MAN where have you been?, It's been awhile I've missed your crazed wild ways with your voices in your head, and your passion for fire and burning...... What's that hang on you've burned yourself?, While setting light to things, Oh Please it's like it's some kind of cosmic Joker coming right back at you!!.
Cibola is where your going you singing Mad Man "Ci-a-bola, Ci-a-bola" don't you mean "Viva Las Vegas" my hot and bothered friend?.
How come your still alive after more or less burning away half of your body?, Do you really think that Vaseline will be the cure-all, Hmm maybe your being kept alive by a higher (Or should I say lower) being, Who may have some plans for you (Yes that's means you Randall Flagg!!).
A Man an Sick and perverted Man called "The Kid" picks up poor burned up Trashcan Man and starts abusing him sexually.
I can't help but feel sorry for Trashcan as he seems to get a raw deal (No pun inteaded!!) out of life no matter what he does.
Trashcan also dreams of Mother Abgail but he turns into a Weasel just like how Mother Abgail is attacked by such animals earlier in the story.
When Trashcan & "The Kid" get to Cibola, "The Kids carries on with his sick ways to poor Trashcan.
After "The Kid falls asleep Trashcan is told by Randall in his dreams that He will take care of him, and will get rid of "The Kid" for him too.
Trashcan meets up with Lloyd who is expecting him and tells Trashcan to await Randall's return.
In the meantime The Kid and trashcan have a wild car ride which ends in The Kid damaging his Car, He sets Trashcan off onwards to walk the road.
But later a dead drunk The Kid catched up with Trashman near a tunnel with a traffic jam which goes on for eight miles (This is going to be worse than the Lincon tunnel!!) A pack of Wolves attack "THe Kid" (Good!!) and he locks himself in an litter Austin his death from the wolves certain if it takes one hour or one week he will be killed by the wolves.
One of the Wolves says with his eyes to Trashcan "My life for you" and guides Trashcan west....
Trashcan starts talking to a crow believing it to be Randall himself or at least one of his followers.
And so Trashcan makes his way back to his new home and friends back in Ciabola.
Trashcan then witness an public Crucifixion of Hector Alonzo Drogan for drug use.
Trashcan makes a choice and decides to bury is past ID as Donald Merwin Elbert, And becomes Trashcan Man forever.
