Default Just started reading "The Stand" **SPOILERS**

Just started this very popular SK book, Only my 2nd SK Book I've been reading too. And I have to say it's so far amazing!!!, Finished Chapter 1 already on the bus this morning, with people sneezing, coughing, wheezing it was a scary experience esp when some bloke let rip some serious green muck. A great start kept me hooked.....Now onto Chapter 2 & more, Thank you Stephen King my man, your making this winter fly by.

Chapter 2 is very sweet and funny too, The emotional talk about the Pill was well written, I love Gus too. Nice contrast to Chapter 1 overall....Ok onto Chapter 3.

I'll never forget the first time I read this book, I could go nowhere without the novel in my hands.

Hallways, my mind remembers walking up and down hallways reading, reading, at home? School? Grocery store? Can't remember, but remember being enthralled through and through . . . then my imagination seemed so much more clear, hyperactive even, and on overload.

    Miss those days.

Proverbs you will never have the chance to read it for the first time again, so may it be well with you, and well savored.

Just up to Chapter 7, And with the backgrounds of Joe Bob & his message to the others who was there at that fateful Hapscomb's Texaco station the night before. Then onto the widering impact of the flu outback with Starkey and his fight for control of the ever growing situation that's getting out of hand. Then onto Larry Underwood and his party hard fast living after a touch of success only to be brought back down to earth and to his mother. I really like Larry & Starkey too. I will update what I think when I'm up to Chapter 15, then from every 5 or 10 chapter's after that. Just to record my thought's and feeling as I read this very important work by Stephen King. So I hope it won't get too boring for you all to read my thought's as I get stuck in!!!.

Chapter 11: Larry back with his Mother. Not the perfect son and has a crappy side to him (see also Chapter 10) but his heart is in the right place if only he could of managed to control his loins during Chapter 10!!.
Chapter 12: Frannie Goldsmith wow she has to tell her mum about her being pregnant, the mum is upset....(God knows how she would of coped with the kids of today!! Lol.). Chapter 13: So this is where Stu will get some answers but still a lot is classified!! Stu has a dream about Cornfields and crows Hmmm wonder what this could mean??.
Chapter 14: Back to Deitz reports that a vaccine was tried but failed but do know of the various stages of the flu virus....
Chapter 15: A very short one in which the virus spreads....

Have to say I've spent the past few hours reading from Chapter one to fifteen more or less non stop I really enjoying this. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed reading a book. It's totally gripping and I will be reading this some more during the reast of the night. As soon as I've finished an chapter I very quickly record my thoughts onto my Blackberry. More to come tomorrow afternoon. Any feedback or your own thoughts on Chapters 1-15 would be greatfully received. Cheers Guys

Sounds like you have the uncut version there, Proverb. Great recap. I think we should have "spoiler" in the title of the thread..
