I am happy today because I came out of the closet to a cousin of mine and she was so excited to hear it. It was nice.

I am happy today because a TV show ended without a cliffhanger.

Well that's a nice change, isn't it, Spidey!?!

I am happy because we finally have little bitty green blades of grass growing in the backyard! I was just about ready to give up on it. I'm sure we'll have spots that don't come up, but it's a start!

I'm happy 'cause I ran over a frog with a lawnmower, and he lived!

I saw him a fraction of a second before I went over him, and before I could react, it was too late, or so I thought. But he must have ducked and covered, for when I looked back, expecting to see his cold and clammy body torn asunder, he was there complete in one piece, not a scratch to him. On he went. I named him Hopalong Cassidy. A good day for batrachians!

It reminds me of when a friend of mine and I were on the interstate. A semi was passing us on the left. An Irish setter came dashing across the hiway. There was zero time for the semi driver to avoid the animal. My friend and I both gasped. We watched, first as the dog disappeared under the semi's wheels and then as it went tumbling over and over. I looked behind us (my friend was driving) and saw the dog haulin' ass away untouched into the median. I said, "Did you see that?!" (referring to the whole thing since it all happened in like 4 seconds). My friend said, "Yeah", and we shared an astounded and grateful chuckle.

Happy because I have a 4-day weekend ahead of me! And sunny weather forecast for our Sunday picnic!
