I'm happy because my consultation with the dentist went well this morning. He has a really great sense of humor, and he put me at ease immediately.

Good deal, Cat. Thoughts and prayers for your rapid and full recovery!
I'm happy because the feral parakeet we caught and nursed back to health is "singing" in the other room. I can't believe I thought it was a sparrow when we saw it on the road...
I am happy today (more like literally laughing out loud) because of this:

If you don't know, this is making fun of the new, awful song they play on all the mainstream pop radio stations now, "Call Me Maybe"...
LOL@AchtungBaby!That song's not really my cup of tea either, but I got a good laugh out of the video that they made for it.
I am happy today because I took my oldest kid to watch a parade, and she seemed to have a lot of fun. We visited with some good people afterward, had some conversation (about very important things like Pokemon, and bugs, and what's the tastiest kind of fish) and she got to play with a small army of kids. It was pretty silly, and seeing her happy made me happy. There were mini-horses, and one was piebald, and I kind of gave it a sideways glance.![]()
I am happy today because ... I don't know. I just am. I think I'm tired of being worried and stressed; happy is so much better.
My beloved dog Sam gives me a reason to be happy every day, even when the day in question is bad in every other aspect. I usually wake up every morning to his cold nose in my face as a forcible reminder to give him breakfast (I'm not a morning person but the sheer beauty of his furry, tawny gold face and great big liquid brown eyes like pools of melted chocolate fills me to overflowing with love so that there's no room for any negative emotion). I love to see his joyful dance when I walk in the door after work, and to be able to wrap my arms around his warm, cuddlesome body, breathe in his sweet doggy smell and feel his warm, wet kisses all over my face is always a high point in the day. And it's so easy to make him happy, as well; the simplest things elicit the greatest ecstasy as if all his Christmases had come at once, from serving him a freshly cooked meal to giving him a massage to just being there and present for him. It makes the giving and receiving of love so easy and uncomplicated. That's why I've dedicated the song "You Make Loving Fun" by Fleetwood Mac to him; it's an uplifting and joyful love song. Any fellow members who are old enough to remember the music of the 70's will know exactly what I mean!
It's Wednesday, and soon some nice young men in a big big truck will come take away all the garbage and recycling I've placed at the curb.
Also, I think I have an explanation for something that's been bugging me for a long time. That is a first step to a fix.
I had one of those Eureka moments... that is why I am happy today... and I made soap.
