I am happy today because I choose to be, even in the midst of danger at home and problems at work. I still know how to be happy and they can't take that away from me...

I am happy because my foul, crabby mood has pretty much lifted, thanks to the SKMB. Special mention to cat in a bag, blunthead, and Ms. Mod for the virtual hugs and the listening to my (really seriously very small in the grand scheme of things) complaints and the making me laugh.

I am happy to have a job still. I'm happy there's money in my pocket. I am happy that there's food in the kitchen. And, most importantly, I'm that I haven't gotten sick or injured. My dad has been missing more than a few days of work because of his diverticulitis. My brother wounded his knee a few weeks ago when he was up in Memphis with some buddies. Apparently, he tripped on a manhole. The injury was close to being an ACL tear, but he got lucky with it just being a chipped bone.

It's strange being the only one in my family working right now after so long of it being the opposite. Life is strange. But it will soon return to normal because my brother is on the mend and my dad is getting better. That's something to be happy about, too.
