I am happy today because I feel better in general these days, not just today, than I have in a long time. I don't just why, but I've always said, "Don't look gift happy in the mouth". I am happy because now I know what hell that means!

I am happy also because we seem finally to be approaching the end of settling Dad's estate.

After months of getting our hopes up, and being disappointed several times, I am happy because hubby and I have been offered a great job with more money, less stress and a boss we have worked with before whom we both loved. We have to relocate to another city- a smaller one- and will be less than an hour away from close friends and family. Life can't get any better, my friends!

I am happy today because tomorrow I go visit my friends in St Pete whom I've know since 1972, which is...let's see, subtract...12...72... Man, are we old! I'm sad though because I have to board my doggie, Bo. There are no motels/hotels which take pets where I need to go. But he'll be fine. I love my vet's office and they love Bo. "Oh, he's so cute!". Beagle mix. Gets all the babes.

And, I am happy today because now that I'm finishing up FDNS (incredible stuff, btw, my favorite collection of short[er] stories, by far) I intend to finally pick up a copy of 11/22/63 to start while I'm in Florida.

I am happy today because I found out that I will be part of the SJV Academic All League. I don't even know anything about it...except that it requires the best GPA and ACT scores combined as a decimal to get in. (And only the top person from each schools gets in.) I'm just afraid of having to make a speech.

That's fantastic sprinco!! Congrats! If you have to make a speech, just imagine the audience is filled with Board members!

Actually just imagine all the audience is naked!! As a semi-professional public speaker for many years, I found making direct eye contact with different members of the audience, encouraging them to care about my subject, works the best. Be sure you know your material well, nobody likes looking at the top of someone's bent head while they read off their notes!!
