    Default Finished Last Night

Finished "The Wastelands" last night, what a spectacular cliff hanger to end with! I was thankful that I already had "Wizard and Glass" sitting on my shelf at home to dive into. Already 125 pages into that and it is great as well!

I can only feel sorry for the people who got into the "Dark Tower" series early on and had to wait years between volumes! I think I would have gone crazy with the wait!

I am one of those who waited with great patience (who am I kidding), but it was so worth that long wait. Read on and enjoy the journey.

I always "doff my hat" at the original constant readers.

As an audiobook reader of the DT series, there wasn't even a 1 min gap between books for me.
Although, I do sometimes have problems distinguishing part of certain books since I read them basically as one long book.

I didn't start the journey until after The Waste Lands, and it felt like a lifetime for Wizard, and an eternity for Wolves. I feel bad for the people that originally picked up The Gunslinger when it came out- as far as I am concerned they are saints for their patience. Hold on to your hat, it only gets better from here.

I just read DT for the first time last year. It would have drove me bats**t crazy to have to wait that long between books. I can only say bravo to the ones who did. This is, by far, my favorite SK tale and I re-read it often.

And may you have twice the number.

    Hi, Ms. Spidey!

While reading Danpd's post, my mind immediately went to you (and John...) because I already knew that the two of were "one of those"..

I started the journey after WL was out for awhile and we were all waiting for part IV. Then Insomnia came out and I was freaking out about the connections. I even got a friend who had never read any King before to read Insomnia because it blew me away. Then the teaser stuff for W&G during Green Mile time. The wait was tough but I loved every minute of it.

Ok I'll show my age here. I can remember having very animated discussions about what the next Gunslinger book was going to be about as I played Dungeons & Dragons with a couple of other hard core S.K. friends back in the mid and late 80's and into early 90's. I remember having a great time rolling the 20 sided die and talking about how much of a bad ass Roland was and that we should make up a D&D Gunslinger role playing game..lol, anyone else a former D&D player or hell maybe you still are hard core to the RPG old school.lol
