I loved "The Mist" in 3D Sound, it really felt like you were there. I haven't listened to this one for many years though so I don't know how well it holds up now that we have a very fine movie version as well.

I'd go with "The Mist" hands down. I had already read the novella when I purchased the CD and it still scared the crap out of me when I listened to on my portable CD player. I tried listening to it in a normal CD player but without the earphones it lost something -- which I think was the entire purpose of that special CD. Even my Dad loved it and was a wee bit frightened by it awesomeness and that states something.
I can't wait for The Stand. Anyone know what a library edition is? Thats what it is listed as on Amazon.
I couldn't find what you mentioned on amazon but a library edition is the same as the regular edition except it is in a hard shell case instead of what you would get in a book store. If it is cassette, the cassettes are usually a better quality more durable cassette since it is going to be used much more than a version purchased in a book store.
On Writing and Bag of Bones because he reads them.
Danse Macabre is great on audio.
Fyi....iTunes has The Gunslinger AB for $5.95.
Great deal and a great place to start on ABs.
I loved the short story Boogeyman in audio version. I also liked It and On Writing.
I've mentioned it before, but audible.com has a lot of King audiobooks and if you get on a monthly plan you can get one each month for $14.95, even the long ones like IT and Needful Things, and all of the DT series.
King also narrates part of Hearts in Atlantis and seems like he does Needful Things.
Shoot me down in my tracks and I don't mean to be a thread killer but I can't listen to King's narrations...the way he pronounces his "L's" grates on my nerves...I hope this is not a health condition and I do not mean to offend.....I am going through the King library via audio and I prefer Frank Muller and Raul Esparza.....
P.S. Is there a master list of who narrated which books?
Thanks all!
