After finishing "The Mormon People" (Mathew Bowman), I thought I would start "11/22/63" next, but got way-laid, and instead, picked up Candice Millard's "The River of Doubt", which I had bought some time ago, and never had the inclination to begin. What an interesting story, a unique blend of history and adventure. I had previously read "African Game Trails", but had no prior knowledge of Roosevelt's South American odyssey. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, from start to finish, and highly recommend it. The author provides a wealth of information along the way about the country, the river, the expedition and the individuals who were part of it. I guarantee you will consider it time well spent if you decide to read this narrative.
