Guess this is as good a place as any to vent (). I have good news and bad news. The good news is that my son and I are going to Mexico from January 13th to the 20th for the wedding of my older son. Here is the bad part. My immigrant husband (the chef from Scotland) will be unable to travel with us after all. It is a long story but basically he cannot obtain a Canadian passport in time (due to losing his original Canadian Citizenship Certificate). We have searched everywhere and cannot find it. We have an excellent colour photocopy but the Passport Office would not accept that. (He took the photocopy with him up North and left the original at home).

It turns out that if he tries to travel on his British passport he will get stopped at the airport by the Mexican authorities (for hours and hours apparently) and would have trouble getting back into Canada at the end of the vacation. As he must return to Nunavut in February to continue working at the lodge up there he really needs to get back (plus I hear Mexico isn't the best place to live ha ha). Oy vey - besides, we feel so dumb to have misplaced such an important piece of paperwork. There was even a letter from the Prime Minister in the package. He just had his citizenship ceremony back in August of 2012 before he went up North.

I hope all this is not just TMI or too much information. In order to get a replacement certificate it costs 75 bucks, he has to get new photos taken and it takes about five months for it to come back! Sheesh It just seems like something is holding us back from finding this original paperwork. We are absolutely flummoxed at this point. Thanks for letting me vent - I don't feel any better but I managed to get it "off my chest" a bit so to speak...

((((Neesy and family)))) Sending you positive vibes...maybe you'll get that Ah-hah! light bulb moment and remember what safe place you put the original passport. Sometimes that happens to me when I've looked everywhere for something and then give up.

((((SKMB)))) Sending hugs to everyone today, I do that almost every day, I know...but I am sending especially big, strong ones today.

    Long Days and Pleasant Nights

    Howdy folks, Happy New Year.
    How are you?
What did you do for NY?
I stayed home, my wife`s sister and her kid came over and stayed for a while, had dinner and stuff and then when they left, my little one went to bed ( only 4 years old, she couldn`t stay up until midnight ) and then my wife and I partiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeddddddddddd like nuts `till like 4 in the morning.
Gotta really drunk too, and I didn`t drink since forever, so I was suffering yesterday...serves me right...
But I had an AWESOME time.♥
    How about you, my friends?
