I almost forgot, it's winter time on Duma Key, so time for a re read. Just can't do it during summertime. It hits too close to home-- weather wise. Wow, can Sai King describe tropical weather!!

This is one of my favorite SK books. I could appreciate Edgar's frustration after the accident - it was similar to my mom's issues after her strokes - and his ability to say "I can do this" even when it was nearly impossible. I loved Wireman and Elizabeth's relationship - such love and tenderness there - as well as Wireman and Edgar's. Truth be told, I enjoyed the "damaged" people more than the "normal" ones, except maybe Kamen. It's a journey that I thoroughly enjoyed and look forward to taking again.

Excuse my ignorance(and I know that's a Herculean task)...but did he have the house in Florida when he wrote that? Could explain the meteorological "right on"....

Yes, he'd been living there a few years when he wrote it.

As MsMod replied- There is something about actually living by the water during tropical season and experiencing those daily afternoon/evening storms that rolling in.

Duma Key is one of my all time favorite books. It is one of the first Sai King books that I bought "Brand New". It is a spectacular story. one that, I could read again and again.
