Dear Mr Stephen King,
Did you know that some of your worksstigmatize the mentally ill? I'm schizoaffective, and my paranoia isthat I'll some day find myself in a situation that looks bad on me,and simply because I'm mentally ill, then there's no chance forparole, so to speak. People want to see me locked up _because_ I'mmentally ill, and what they've seen of the mentally ill is whatthey've read and seen in movies (unless they have an innocent familymember just trying to hide his hard life) and the people want thatvermin locked up for life. The Age of Asylums was no different. Ifsomeone found out you were mentally ill, then they wanted you lockedup. Society still wants that, and you do the situation no favors.
By the way, thank you for your charityhelping the poor stay warm during the Winter. You're a good man.
Best Wishes,
Scott Sibley
P.S. It's a story about a child, abusedfrom that moment on by Fat, reaching the ripe age of Psychosis, andsent to an Asylumn simply because he was hearing Voices. They rantests and electro shocks on the boy, and kept him locked up for most of his life. Duringthat time they pulled his eye out of his skull because they thought itwas giving him bad health. He has a terrible life for the crime ofInnocent Fear. His best time of life is his time with his grandson, who would go running after the glass eye and hoping to get a look atthe socket. His name is Martin.
