Default Scary Book, But Positive Impact

After reading this book (which is my favorite King book and one of my most favorite books of all) I just want to say that I know how it feels to conquer your fear after reading IT.I know what it means to embrace terror and I know what it means to be brave. Honestly, for now on in my life, I don't always want to be afraid. When something that I find frightning approaches me, I want to take a stand against it. I want to be brave and know that if I really believe in myself, I can win.

This may be the scariest King book, but to me, it left the most positive impact on me. I almost wish that I could just go up to Mr. King and say, thank you for helping me realize what it means to conquer your greatest fears.

Do any of you feel this way?

Often, and about many different things...it's the way his work touches us all at some level, and in your case-it really seems to have put some "punk" in your "spunk"...and I mean that in a good way...congrats!

I read IT when I was 14 (pretty impressionable age), and it amazed me in such a way that I never stopped reading SK!
I totally agree with you about the way it makes you see the world, It gives you a whole new perspective about things like fear and courage

I dont know when I read IT for the first time. That is just one of the many memories lost to me when I had that inconvenient stroke. However I determined to read all of SK's books in hopes of recapturing those memories, but mainly because I just enjoy them all so much.I do recall SK's books were frowned upon in high school in the early to mid 70's which is odd to me because SK wasnt internationally reknown then (was he??). I began reading Asminov then Bradbury, if memory serves, then discovered SK. I think what affected me most about IT was the sheer terror these children experienced-daily-and yet they still stood up to and fought against IT. That to me expressed true courage of these children, and won my heart. When I read the Talisman, I worried so for Travelin Jack. It was their courage in the face of such pure evil that kept drawing me back for another glimpse into their lives and years later pulled me in for Dreamcatcher and even Duma Key and Bag of Bones as well. Now I fell for 11/22/63 and I'm still falling for SK's characters. probably always will.

It has probably the most emotions in people. The fear can be concurred. It shows one must take a stand in overcoming fear. The evil clown has been so impressive. pennywise shows the fearful and the Losers show the winning side.Really love this book.

I read It when I was 13 or 14 and I remember myself running at nighttime for weeks after reading it. I am also scared of many thing, but hey, so was Eddy, wasn’t he, and he still managed to conquer them when the time is right. That is what I wish for. Not necessarily to be brave, but to be brace when I need to be.
