Well since i'm "new" (meaning i just registered but i have browsed these forums many times the past few months) and figured i'd give my opinions on nightmares and dreamscapes.
First off i have to say that "the end of the whole mess" is right now far and away the best SK short story i've read thus far. I have only read night shift as well so i still have plenty more to read before i deem this the best of his out of all of them, but man at this point i just can't see how one can beat it. Just an amazingly creative and intelligent story from "the king". I also really enjoyed Dolan's Cadillac, The fifth quarter, The house on maple street, The doctors case(a Stephen King sherlock holmes story?!?!?!...what hasn't he done!) as well as others but these were the best for me. I would consider these stories "great".
As for "very good"-Popsy(unique), Head down, Home delivery, Crouch end.....and im sure there's more but im doing this from memory....also You know they got a hell of a band creeped me out.!
To be honest here, i will admit i didn't care for "My pretty pony, Sneakers, or Dedication. But hey i mean only 3 out of 22 stories that's not to shabby!
I have one question about this book....on wikipedia it says there is a story titled "the beggar and the diamond"....yet it wasn't in my hardcover copy? Is it a story added to the paperback similair to "under the weather" in FDNS???
Anyway i hope i get some feedback as well as your thoughts on this book and let me know which collection i should go for next! In case your interested im going to post in the newbies section and explain what books i've read and my favorites etc.....anyway happy to be here on the forum!
