Title says it all.

The Stand...followed closely by the DT series...but to be fair-I love all of them in one way, shape or form....
You show me yours; I'll show you mine.
Impossible. . .
The Dark Half
I have many favorites and they are favorite for different reasons i.e., 'Salem's Lot because it was my first SK and I loved the story, The Stand 'cause such a thing can actually happen, and Dolores Claiborne because it is a story of a battered and misunderstood woman and her view of her small world. Most of all its the characters in all of Mr. King's books that move me to go to the bookstore time and again for they are unforgettable. You either hate hate hate them or love them.
I could go on and on and name many others but Ms. Mod is a busy person.
The Stand, followed closely by The Dead Zone. Of course for scare factor, it was The Shining. That was when I could still feel that creepy feeling....aah youth, how I miss it.
"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed."
The Dark Tower: Book 1: The Gunslinger. Best book ever written. Not sure what muse you were using on that one Mr. King, but I say thank ya Sai.
It's tough to choose a favorite, but I'm going with "The Stand" and here's why. When I was reading it, my family was going through a horrible time both financial and emotionally (no need to elaborate-just the worst you can think of: that would cover it) and I had this huge, wonderful book into which i could escape from my awful life. When I was reading about Trashy or Stu or Dayna Jurgens or chocolate covered Payday bars I was in another world where fighting parents, etc. didn't exist-at least for a little while. I've read this book several times, it never gets old-when I open it it's like saying hello to an old friend.
Right now, my fiance and I are having a tough time of it-he's just starting his new bike business and it's a leap of faith esp. with the economy and the store I work at is closing at the end of the month. I still have my old friend to depend on-a trusty S King book right on time for my birthday yesterday and I'm already on page 63 and plan to enjoy the day reading and escaping our troubles for a little while. If a book can entertain you and take your troubles away for while-what more can you ask?
My first King book was Christine. I'm a car guy so a killer possessed car was up my alley. It got me into Stephen King. So, its definitely a sentimental favorite. I must admit 11/22/62 is my NEW favorite. Not just of Mr. Kings but all-around favorite. If you haven't read it yet I have no idea what you are waiting for. I IMPLORE YOU to spend the 25 bucks on it! Just amazing. I have never read an 800+ page book in 3 days and this one did it. Just a masterpiece in my opinion. Interesting twist on a certain town in Maine we have come to fear. King fans all over will get a nice kick out of it. At least I know I did.
