Is a 'sener one of SK's made up words, or is it a real one? It's obviously a light of some sort, and an abbreviation, because of the leading apostrophe. Any ideas, do ya, I beg?

A kerosene lantern.
I thought it was a real word. Maybe a shortened version of kerosene?
Maybe it was referring to a kerosene lamp?
Please give us the context of usage. Off the top of my head it doesn't ring a bell so I suspect it is merely a regular word being written out to reflect slang "sound." If I am right the word could be being used for "senior" or something close.
The context is that it's a light source of some kind. The consensus here is that it's an abbreviation for a kerosene (uk paraffin) lamp. Is that a normal US abbreviation that Americans would understand straight away?
It's probably unique to the States...we fer sure have our own way of doin' lingo...
It's a little bit old, so maybe younger North Americans wouldn't get it straight away, but a lot of the Dark Tower lingo is antiquated.
