I have heard nothing but great things about the plant, i just downloaded parts 1-6
But i do not want to read it then be left hanging somewhere, is there any fanmade endings or has King ever given a summery of what happens?

Steve has lost the thread of the story so he doesn't know what happens either or he would have written it by now.If it ever comes to him, I'm sure he'll write it but I don't think it will be distributed as it was in the past. That's just an assumption on my part, though.
In my posted Thread, "Should Stephen King Finish Writing The Plant?" I suggested a scenario Mr. King might consider if he ever decided to continue with the story. The Plant was begun a while back. Though I'm sure Mr. King has the skill to finish it, I wonder if he still has the motivation--and the original vision. Time will tell.
It'd be an interesting challenge. Don't think I could even begin to afford the resultant legal fees, though!![]()
No offense intended to anyone, but ... I'd rather get hit in the face with a cow-pie than read a fanfic continuation of The Plant. In a pinch, I'd reluctantly accept a continuation by a professional writer -- and I'd be excited by it if that writer's first name happened to be Stephen, Tabitha, Joe, or Owen -- but fanfic...?
Hellity-hell-hell no.
Good point. I was probably a little too hasty on that.
Let's put it this way: until there is reason for me not to be, I would be deeply suspicious of -- and disinterested in -- any fan-written continuations of The Plant, or any other King property.
That's not a King-specific thing, by the way. Fanfic -- which, granted, I'm by no means an expert on -- is something that simply doesn't interest me.
Me either, for the most part. There's probably 100 parts crap to one part good read in fanfic, and that sort of ratio means it's usually more effort than it's worth.
My g/f wades through fanfic, but then she can be pretty forgiving provided she's a fan of the show/book/whatever. I'd probably need something like a seal of approval, e.g. if Stephen King gave the green light and then endorsed certain continuations.
I'd be interested enough to give them a go under those conditions, though.
It would be fun to see Joe Hill take a crack at it. Apparently he is the one who came up with the ending for 11/22/63.
