Default Means to which I will go to read some King, but what else should I do?

    Hello,

I am a 45 y.o. female, with auto renew subscriptions to Playboy, Esquire, Entertainment Weekly and Granta. I subscribe to these mags (some of which are not exactly skewed to my demographic, if you know what I mean) for one reason and one reason only -- on the off chance that SK might have a new short story or article published in them. I also purchased a Kindle, even though I own an independent used bookstore with over 25,000 titles, so that I could read "UR," and so that if other stories are released in e-format only, I will be able to devour those too. So, this constant reader's question to Mr. King (or his webmaster, or to other huge fans) is this: What else should I buy/read/subscribe to in order to ensure that I don't miss a single word? Have I covered all possible bases, or is there an little known horror mag or obscure literary journal that would be a treasure trove for me?

Many thanks to Mr. King for thousands of hours of enjoyment.

Ellen in the beautiful N. Georgia Mountains, who will be jumping up and down in front of the UPS driver in a few short days, when her copy of 11-22-63 arrives.

My suggestion would be to subscribe to our Newsletter and and/or sign up for the Twitter feed as we send out notices when these come out and keep a watch on our Home page or the News Forum on the Message Board for notices.

Couldn't you just set up an RSS feed or something, or scan their coverlines? Seems like a lot of expense to go to...

It's comforting to see that you don't have an unhealthy fascination with Sai King...

Thanks, Ms. Mod. Did the Twitter thing, already get the newsletter (that's how I knew about the Granta Horror issue) and will continue to check the boards. The Granta came today. SK story is called "The Dune." Will dig into it in a few. @GNT, I'm not obsessed with SK, just the stuff that comes out of his computer! And, in the interest of full disclosure, there are a few other authors I like who submit stories to those mags (one that comes to mind is David Sedaras). Regardless, I guess I have to admit to my fascination. A girl's got to have a vice or two.

Agreed! And reading King's stories doesn't make you gain weight, or make you addicted to alcohol, or cause cancer ...unless maybe, you read them while eating Cheetos, drinking wine, and smoking cigarettes. (Hey! Don't knock the Cheetos and wine combo until you've tried it)

I recently wrote a query letter to the chief editor of hustle about writing an article. According to the writers market hustle is 65% freelance, and i thought i might get my first byline.

he approved my friend request on facebook, but i haven't heard back about the article.
